about me
I am a licensed clinical social worker practicing psychotherapy in New York City. I received a Masters of Social Work degree from New York University and enjoy working with diverse populations.
my background…
Outpatient services has been some of the most rewarding work for me thus far in my career. I found it to be accessible to a wide variety of people, and allowed me to exercise my social work background to address not only mental health needs, but also other social determinants of health.
Most recently I held a position as a Clinical Supervisor at a substance use and mental health agency where I provided individual and group psychotherapy as well as clinical supervision to a multi-disciplinary team.
For the past five years I facilitated a process group for licensed professionals in recovery where I focus on creating a comfortable space for clients to explore the specific challenges faced in their respective professions. These professions include nurses, doctors, attorneys, mental health clinicians and pilots where the management of work-related stress is vital.
In addition to my clinical social work license, I have a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor Trainee (CASAC-T) certificate. Addiction treatment has been a long-standing passion of mine.
Lastly, I have certification in Seminar Training in Field Instruction (SIFI), and enjoyed this collaborative experience working with and supervising graduate students from various universities throughout the country.
being a therapist is such a fulfilling experience…
to empower & be witness to those on their journey to self-discovery is a privilege.
my focus…
My focus in therapy lies in creating a safe & supportive environment that allows clients the opportunity for
exploration, healing & growth.
I believe in creating an alliance and taking a strengths-based, person-centered approach to treating your mental health concerns.
I exercise cultural humility by maintaining an attitude of openness and interest in the client’s salient cultural identities that allows for continued growth and development. Your cultural background is important to me and is important to our work together.
As a social worker & professional, I am committed to a ‘life-long learning’ philosophy.
Continued education enhances my effectiveness and allows me to provide the best practices and most relevant skills in session. Our environment is always evolving and I believe that therapy should too.
